Thank you for your patience as we’ve navigated COVID and travel restrictions. We apologize for the delay, but we do have updates for you. Please read this carefully as it will answer most of your questions. If you have any questions that are not answered on this page, please let us know!

Determination from the District

As communicated on November 11, the district has determined that we will not be permitted to travel this school year. There is still much unknown about the spring semester.

We have made the decision to forego the trip to New York this time around. However, we have decided to accelerate our general travel timeline and are planning to travel to Orlando in the spring of 2022! Please take a look at this page for more details.

Trip commitment forms and first payments are due February 1st!

Options for Seniors

We understand that this news is difficult for all students, but especially for our current seniors. Though it’s a small consolation, we would love to welcome our seniors to travel with the band to Orlando as chaperones. Current seniors will have the opportunity to travel with the band as adults or perform with next year’s students.

Payments and Fundraising Profits

Each students’ family will have a choice in what is done with their payments and/or fundraising profits:

  • apply payments and fundraising profits to the 2022 trip to Orlando,

  • transfer payments and fundraising profits to the 2022 trip to a FAMILY MEMBER for Orlando,

  • donate the payments and fundraising profits to the band program to purchase much-needed music and/or instruments, or

  • request a refund of payments only.

Each student’s family may choose one of the above options. Due to the volume, we are unable to honor more than once choice per student.

Refunds will apply to payments only. We are unable to return online payment fees, as they directly pay for our ability to collect payments online. Because the early bird discounts were not payments, they cannot be refunded or transferred as a payment toward Orlando. As stated in the trip contract, we are prohibited from dispersing any fundraising profits to families for any reason. Fundraising profits may not be applied toward any fees or fines.

Refunded payments will be applied toward any outstanding band fees/fines (uniform fee, instrument rental fee, missing item fine, etc.) first with the remaining balance returned to families. This will not apply toward transfers to the SAME student, but please know that all band fees/fines must be paid before we leave for Orlando.

Please refer to this document for information on how much is available for each scenario. For privacy, the identifying information is the student-traveler’s district ID number. This number is found in Infinite Campus and on school ID cards. For chaperones, the identifying information is the student-traveler’s district ID number with a note in column B of the relationship to the student.

To find your information more easily,

  • wait for the page to load completely,

  • hold control+f, and

  • type your ID number.

More specific financial information (dates and amounts of specific payments, profits from specific fundraisers, etc.) is found in Charms. Please refer to this document for help.

Your Next Steps

Once you have read the above and understood your options, please fill out this form. If we have already communicated about your choice by phone or email, please make sure to still share that information on the form. The form will be open until February 1st. Any families who have not chosen an option will have their payments donated to the band program to purchase much-needed music and/or instruments. We hope to have checks mailed home in mid-to-late-February.

As a reminder:

  • Each traveler may choose ONE of the above options.

  • Fundraising profits can be transferred, but not returned or applied toward fees or fines.

  • Refunded payments will be applied toward any outstanding band fines/fees first with the remaining balance returned to families.

  • Thank you for your patience!
