School-Owned Instruments

Most students provide their own instrument. Some instruments are available to be provided by the Oshkosh Area School District and the West Band Program. These are often larger, more expensive, and lesser-used instruments. All students are responsible for their own supplies. See a supply list here.

Available instruments include:

  • piccolo

  • oboe

  • English horn

  • bassoon

  • tenor saxophone

  • baritone saxophone

  • flugelhorn

  • french horn

  • bass trombone

  • baritone/euphonium

  • tuba

  • sousaphone

  • various percussion instruments (not including sticks or mallets)

School-owned instruments will be issued in good or excellent working condition. Students and parents or guardians must read and complete the Oshkosh Area School District Instrument Policy to be turned into the Band Office by the designated due date. Students are responsible for these school-owned instruments and any damage caused to the instrument by lack of proper care will be his/her responsibility. Instrument damage will be assessed when the instrument is turned in at the end of the school year.
