February 2024 Update

It’s hard to believe that load buses and head to New York next month!  As the trip nears, I'd like to provide a few updates for the trip.  Please take a few moments to look at the following updates and reminders. Some things have changed and new information is found below. Please read carefully as there is a lot of information here!

UPDATEd info - Trip Clinic Rehearsal

We are not doing a formal performance on our trip, but we are doing a clinic with Broadway musicians, which will be super fun! To prepare for this as a large ensemble comprised of students from all four bands, we will have ONE rehearsals to practice our sightreading skills and learn what this specific ensemble sounds like. This is an change from the previously scheduled 2 rehearsals.

Trip performance rehearsal will be on March 10th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm — please add this date to your calendar! As noted in the trip commitment form, this rehearsal is mandatory and students may not be permitted to travel if they are not present at the rehearsal.

Final Trip Meeting - New Date

There will be a student and parent travel meeting following the rehearsal on March 10th at 3:30 in the F-Room. This is a CHANGE from the originally scheduled March 17th meeting. At the meeting, students and families will receive a packing list and a final itinerary. Please note that an adult must be present for each student and we can only hand these to students who have paid in full, including any band-related fees and fines. Permission slips and other paperwork

Completed paperwork is due at the March 10th trip meeting. These documents will be sent home with students soon to be completed by the student and their adult parent/guardian.

Itinerary

The itinerary that we have available on our website is tentative. It is very close to what we will be following, but there may be updates including shifting around what we do from day-to-day. The final itinerary will be distributed at the traveler meeting on March 10th.
