Final Trip Reminders 2024
Monday, Monday, Monday!
We finally leave for NYC on Monday!
All travelers must arrive at West by 10:30am this coming Monday. Travelers may be dropped off on North Eagle Street by the band door. If you must leave your vehicle at school while we travel, please park in the auditorium lot near door #30.
Travelers should enter door #33 when they arrive. (This is the door that gets you to the hallway between the music wing and the auditorium. It’s to the right of the band door.) When you arrive, we will tag your suitcase and have you bring your baggage, carryon, and jacket to the search areas. Men’s items will be searched in the orchestra room and women’s items will be searched in the choir room. While this happens, students will be in the band room.
Packing Reminders
Please consult the packing list as you prepare for the trip! A few important reminders:
Travelers will not have access to suitcases until Tuesday night (about 32 hours after we leave Oshkosh).
Hygiene Supplies
Have any supplies you need to use before sleeping on the bus in your backpack on the bus. This should include a toothbrush and toothpaste and may include glasses, contact supplies, facewash, etc.
Have any supplies you need to be ready for the day in your backpack on the bus. This must include toothpaste, a toothbrush, and deodorant! Travelers will not have access to a shower before we begin the day.
Clothing
Have comfy clothes for the bus in your backpack on the bus. This should include something that you’ll be comfortable sleeping in.
Have the clothes you plan on wearing on Tuesday as we start sightseeing NYC in your backpack on the bus.
It looks like we will encounter rain on our trip. Please pack accordingly!
Students were given drawstring bags in class on Friday. Feel free to use these as carryon bags, though it’s not required to actually bring these on the trip.
