Winter 2026 Updates for Orlando

It’s hard to believe the OWHS Band & Choir travel to Orlando next month!  We depart from West HS on Thursday, March 19th and return on Wednesday March 25th. As the trip nears, we would like to provide a few updates for the trip.  Please take a few moments to look at the following updates and reminders. Please read carefully as there is a lot of information here! Additional updates coming soon.

Trip Band PerformaNce Rehearsals

Trip performance rehearsals for Band Students will begin in mid February — please add these to your calendar! We will have four Sunday afternoon rehearsals from 1:00pm to 4:00pm beginning on February 22nd with the final one on March 15th to prepare for our Parade Performance at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. As noted in the trip commitment form, these rehearsals are mandatory and students may not be permitted to travel if they are not present at each rehearsal. Rehearsals will be held in the West HS Band Room and will include learning/memorizing the parade tune and parade marching. Band Students can preview sheet music for the parade tune HERE and hear a recording of the tune HERE.

Final Trip Meeting

There will be a student and parent travel meeting FOR ALL TRAVELERS (band, choir, and adults) following the final rehearsal on March 15th at 3:30 in the F-Room. At the meeting, students and families will receive a packing list and a final itinerary. Please note that an adult must be present for each student and we can only hand these to students who have paid in full.

Final Payment

As stated in the email from Mr. Flynn on January 23rd, the final payment was pushed back 2 weeks to allow for the fundraising profits to be posted to traveler accounts. Please make sure to log-in to your Bob Rogers Travel account to make sure all payments have been made.

Itinerary

The initial itinerary that we have available on our website is tentative. It is very close to what we will be following, but there may be updates including shifting around what we do from day-to-day. Bob Rogers Travel is working with Disney Performing Arts to finalize our itinerary We will share any updates as they come along. Final itinerary coming soon.

Permission slips and other paperwork

Completed paperwork is due at (or before) the March 15th trip meeting. These documents will be sent home with students soon to be completed by the student and their adult parent/guardian. There will also be a digital permission slip in Infinite Campus for students, as required by the OASD.
